Col. Scott Gibson
Head of School Scott K. Gibson III has served as a head of school since 2004 with 15 years at schools within the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA). He presently heads SCISA’s Strategic Planning Committee and previously chaired its Accreditation Committee and served on its board. Scott is a member of the South Carolina Advisory Council for Cognia and a member of The Citadel’s Zucker Family School of Education Professional Education Advisory
Board. Scott was the valedictorian of his class at Boys’ Latin School, finished first in his undergraduate class at The Citadel, and earned graduate degrees from Troy University, Georgetown University, and the US Army Command & General Staff College and was the
Outstanding MBA Graduate at Spring Hill College. He completed an applied research fellowship at the RAND Corporation. In his first career, he served 22 years on active duty with the US Air
Force and retired as a colonel (O-6). He served stateside and overseas in locations to include Europe, Africa, and the Middle East with three assignments as a commander. He was airborne and air assault qualified and earned his foreign jump wings in Chad. His staff assignments
included those with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and as special assistant to the commander of US Special Operations Command.
