Our Support Team

Wendy Kizer
Executive Administrative Assistant
After retiring from 32 years in nursing, "Miss" Wendy brings a wealth of expertise in task management, implementation, and organization. Like many of our staff, she is a proud alumna, with her children and grandchild also continuing the family tradition at Dorchester Academy.

"As a child, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I vividly remember coming home and playing school with my very own shiny, silver chalk holder, just like the one my teacher had. However, life took me on a different path, leading me to a fulfilling career in nursing. After retiring, I had the opportunity to step in as a substitute nurse and teacher, allowing me to fulfill that childhood dream in a new way. In addition, I proudly serve as the Executive Administrative Assistant, supporting our team by coordinating and documenting daily procedures to help ensure our collective success. I love coming in each day, moving throughout the school, and stepping in wherever I’m needed."

Nan Clayton
Office Secretary
Mrs. Nan has faithfully served as the school's office secretary for many years. As a proud alumna, along with her children and grandchildren, she shares a deep-rooted connection to Dorchester Academy. Her dedication has played a vital role in preserving the school's growth and tradition.
"The joy I get from our students is overflowing....... The hugs and love our students give, and the love I can give back fills my heart.......There is no love sweeter than going to the lower school and having all our little ones run to me wrapping around my legs. I love being at the front door every morning for student drop offs and getting to hug our peeps, as I call them, coming in for the day. I have special nicknames for so many, alumni included. At DA, we are truly a family that takes care of each other. We support our students, staff, school events, and athletic programs as BIG as any school I have seen........ I am blessed to bring our school our morning devotions. I pray every morning before I leave home for the safety of our school and to bring the hearts of our students closer to God. I am a 1975 DA graduate, and is now as then, you can't compete with being a DA Raider....... My cup runneth over."

John "JT" Whetsell

As a retired firefighter and proud alumnus of Dorchester Academy, J.T. continues to serve our local community as a dedicated member of our staff and Junior Varsity Football Coach.
"I work at Dorchester Academy because I enjoy fixing things and love interacting with the kids. I enjoy being part of and assisting with maintaining the school I attended many years ago (Class of 1990)."
